I've had my 09 Aveo for 16 months and just ran into this site yesterday

I'm from Bonney Lake, WA. My parents bought me a 2009 Aveo5 1LT in bright blue with some pretty cool graphics on the sides. This car is my first car, and I love how easy it is to control over my dad's Pontiac G8 GT. Especially since when I first got this car, I was learning to drive. Maybe trying a high hp car for my 1st drive wasn't such a good idea after all. But I do love how my car looks! I take care of it very well.Name: Aveo 1st Time Pic.jpg

Seattle here -- I just got my 2010 aveo5 this past summer. It's my first brand new car and I'm 26 years old. I wish I could have got one when I was learning to drive! It's a lot better than a 1985 ford escort hatchback with a giant dent in the wheel well :P

No doubt thinking about a few things. I'd like window tint for starters, as well as new wheels & tires. The interior I would like to completely overhaul. I personally dislike the one half is one color, and the other half is a different color. Get that all black! Then on those silver pieces in there, get some carbon fiber vinyl to make it look neat. I'd also like to get power locking doors at the least. The spoiler might come eventually. I don't usually like spoilers, but that would change the look into something cooler the more I think about it.

Yeah man j would get the vinyl pro installed and the window tint too. I've done both myself and they're just much better to pay someone else to do. Not as easy as it looks on the instructional videos. Also, unfourtunately the aveo looks kinda unfinished with out a spoiler on the back the ones from the manuf. Are clean nothing to crazy.

Welcome glad to see another person from the Pacific Northwest on here. I have had mine new since 05 and love it. I really missed it when it got rear ended. But it gave me a chance to de-badge the trunk lid. Just waiting for my Daewoo Kalos emblems now. By the way I live in Yelm.

I would definately take it to a shop for the window tint. But the vinyl that I speak of is just some interior stuff that someone on this forum tried, and they did it themselves. It's just takes a while, which is ok with me. When I first got the car, I was torn about the spoiler thing. Cuz I had that exact same thought that it just looks odd without it. My brother-in-law had a Kia Spectre5 with a spoiler and it looked nice. But my dad was the one buying it & making the payments on it, so it was out of my hands at that time. Still kinda is. I just need a job before I can even begin to think about doing a damn thing to the car though. I barely got away with getting some mats right away.

Damn. My Aveo has had a few close calls before. And alot of that was when it was in my parents' names, and they were the ones drving it! For example, someone cut my dad off one night. That was the worst of it from him. My mom on the other hand... A whole 'nother story there. Going to the badges, I want to remove those GM badges that they throw on the sides. I never understood why they felt the need of those.
