      Hey! From Seattle.

I just got my 2010 Aveo5 this summer. It is my first brand new car, it read 11 miles on the odometer when I drove it off the lot! I've already put about a 20% mirror tint on all the windows except for the windshield. The tint makes the car look a lot more expensive than the $6500 I payed for it.

I'm very happy with the Aveo and I've owned a lot of cars in my "day" (I'm 26). My first car was a 1985 ford escort hatch (paid $200). I had to replace the head gasket in it. It was a hilarious car, you could hear the gas sloshing around, no options (except for am dial radio) and a ing brown rust color. After someone ran a red light and totaled that car I got a 1991 ford probe with the insurance money(paid $500). That car died when my mother was driving it and I was in boot camp with the navy. I then got a 97 lincoln continental, replaced the engine (because I hydrolocked it in a flood in south carolina), and sold it to my brother. Then picked up a 2001 subaru legacy gt (paid 12,000) which I owned until I bought this car. The subaru was a good car but it got poor gas mileage for the size car it was.
Finally I decided I wanted a brand new car and looked at the cheapest possible options that are hatchbacks. The Aveo5 was perfect for me and I actually love the car more than any other other "fancy" cars I owned. I don't know exactly why, there is just something about it.

Well hope to find some good audio upgrade advise any whatever else on the forum. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum! I'm happy to see the newer aveo5 numbers growing. These "old timers" with their 1st gen aveos outnumber us 2:1

      Welcome to AveoForum.

You sure sound like quite the bargain hunter. Congrats on the car.

6500 is a steal. I thought the "Cash for Aveos" program ended last summer

Welcome to the forum! Yeah I want to know how too! I paid 9500 for a 2006 for a used Special Value Cheapo with AC with 12,000 miles on it.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

Good question. I got my '09 for about $17,000. Although figure $15,000 or so for 1LT, an extra $289 for the graphics, and the rest on an extended warrenty and whatever else I forgot to include.

      EDIT:
@spaghettijesus, I remember living near the Seattle area. I'm sure you heard of White Center. I lived right down the street from Roxbury Lanes.

Used to deliver mail in White Center. Guess it has been changing, but I am glad I don't work there.

At least it's not as bad like it was 10 or so years ago, still not perfect though. The street I lived on was a hot spot for street racing, now there's those little traffic islands throughout that street. It was fun there sometimes, despite some of the issues with certain crazy maniacs and dumbass neighbors. I believe one of our neighbors mistook gasoline for weed killer. Guess I should be lucky that it was cloudy that day though.
