I love my 2008 Chevy Aveo, it is my only car and I hope to keep it for a long time.

Today the car started making a high pitched winning noise coming from under the hood near the windshield. I want to get an idea what is going one before I take it to a mechanic. Does anyone have any ideas.

It could be anything. You can try to pop the hood and describe a little better where the noise may be coming from to give a little more detailed; but only a mechanic or someone actual with the car will be able to properly diagnosis it.

Not sure but, the first thing that comes to mind is the alternator. It is under the intake, near the firewall. as slayerized6 said, pop the hood and have a look. Good luck and keep us up to date.)))
