hello all, a happy kalos owner

Hello im jonathan, ive had my chevrolet Kalos 1.4 SX for 6 months now and its a good litle car, the problem ive had is finding tuning parts for the car, other than chevrolets own parts wich are limited. hopefully getting onto this forum will help me make a better and faster Kalos.

I also work at a chevrolet main dealer (as a mechanic) in scotland, and im a bit confused about some of the models other countrys have the biggest engine in the UK is the 1.4 E-tekII puting out 90BHP at the flywheel and there is no sighn of turbo mods or the likes here. The US market has all difrent types of body, not just the hach i have and a 1.6L? engine, why cant i have one of those?

The specklistis as follows
1.4L 16v 90BHP engine
Chevrolet back box
green cotton cone filter,
chevrolet lowering springs,
uniroyal rainsport tyres,
chevrolet Sports grill,
Super Red interor and engine cover,
Ripspeed head unit, sony door components,

Its not much but id like to doo more, like a turbo kit or super charger, and also a body kit, any info would be greatly recived, cheers, jonny.

I'll sell you my 1.6. But you could just swap a vauxhall block in there.

not a hundred percent on the first letter of vin, i think its a K but ill check tomoro and post back. whats the facination with 2doors??? there are loads in the UK, about 30% but ive never seen a saloon unless there like our lacetti's?

US did not get the 2 door.. We are only left seeing them.

I really like the look of your 2 door especially the side profile, but I like the front end of the US version better. I would have bought a 2 door if I had the option, it just looks more sporty.

I don't believe the Lacetti = Aveo sedan.

But I'm sure you could work a trade for one, for your 2-door. :)

The valve cover, did you paint it yourself? It's looks quite sharp. Welcome to the forum Matey! If so what did do to prep the plastic?

hi sorry its been a while, the first letters of the vin are KL.

having had a better look at the sedans they are nothing like a lacceti, but look quite nice.

the engine cover was painted by me in chevy super red, i just keyed up the surface with a scoch cloth, primerd it painted it red, then took of the making for the badges and put lacquer over the hole thing to give it all a nice shine. the interor was the same but theres a run on the top pannel.

welcome!! over on ur side of the pond are there any replacment parts? headlamps, grille. another reason i ask is because everyone over here has been tryin to get a set of headlamps bumper and grille just like urs

hi oscare003, there is a full book on chevrolet after market parts, including the grill in pick 3. the parts are quite pricy and take ages to come but i can get the grill, sports back box, leather seats, crome bits for the interor, alloys, a small body extension kit, lowering springs, and other bits and peces. but no other companys do after market kit over here. ill put up some new picks soon.

im not lookin for after market. i want the same front end you have.
headlamps, grille and bumper.

Is there a link to that Chevy Book?
