      Cool Canadian Newb

      Hi everyone.

My name is Steven and i am the new owner of 2005 Pontiac Wave. I got the wave in hopes of using it as a winter car in our harsh Winnipeg winter (often to -30/-40). I am a big car enthusiast owning several Subaru WRX's and Honda's throughout my short driving career.

While looking up common problems and Wave reviews i stumbled across this forum several times and figured i would join. Also with a couple questions i have myself.

      Thanks a bunch

I'm sure you know already: make sure the timing belt in that '05 has been replaced on schedule to avoid grenading the engine (common).

      You probably saw this thread:

So what car is the Wave protecting from winter? Mind me asking what you paid? So many questions.

      Welcome to the forum!

      Thanks!

Thanks to this forum i was aware of the timing belt issue and happy to say i got it changed right after purchase, with 175000km on the original belt.

The Wave is curenttly "protecting" a swapped Civic and a Legacy GT for winter. I don't like disclosing numbers over the inter web but i can tell you i got it for a very good price!.

The only time I don't like saying what I paid for a car is when I know I'm going to be re-selling it fairly soon.
