Plenty of spoilers are available. Turbos take lots of time and money. The only thing you would need to get built would be headers. Everything else would mostly "bolt" right up. Mostly being the keyword there... You would also need standalone fuel management, and everything that comes with a turbo kit. Oil feed lines, intercooler and piping, turbo itself, test pipe, etc.
Can I get a link please kind sir.

Same basic idea here
Check out youtube. Some dude in Venezuela put out 160-70 with a simple plumbing solution using a WRX top mount, although u will need a cowl or some type of scoop. Use the stock header with an adapter plate for the header. B cuz the turbo will sit low u will need some type of in line oil pressurizer. If u need an S AFC II or big intercooler I have those for sale. If u go turbo post a step by step thread- love to see it.
Fmic would be stupid easy on second gen hatch.. first gen not so much
And stock manifold with adapter plate? Never heard of such a thing. Plus the precat wouldn't be the best for a turbo
Remove the pre cat it has been done, just not to any aveo Ive seen. I have a second gen- I know nothing of the 1stkids gens. When I turboed a 1st gen protege I cut the bumper up to fit the FMIC it was 18x24x3. It was a daily driver- a lil banged up on the body but the intercooler let u know right away it wasn t meant to be a show car. Some people laughed but at the track it spun the tires from the tree till she hit 4th.
So tell me more about this adapter plate you speak of.
Basically its a DIY version of a real manifold. Weld a flange onto the stock cast header. Its not an exact science- its hard to weld anything to cast iron because of the different cooling rates but it can be done, u may need to re-weld a crack or 2 but it can work. Some of the first turboed hondas used this method . There may be more detail on a DIY turbo or HOMEMADE TURBO (at if i remember correctly). Oh yeah forgot to mention I dont think the precat would work unless you move your first O2 downstream. Alot of time n a lil bit of money can turbo any engine that makes exhaust gases. I think its less hassle to drop a 1.4t in for the ease of tuning and emission concerns (I HATE OBDII)
Could I jus spend the money and go to a proformance shop? Or would they have no idea how to do it? Lol
Holy crap that guy should make money off that info
If you've got 10-15k to blow you could just got to a shop
Your kidding right? Why would it cost that much? My car is only worth 8k lol wtf maybe I should just stop while im ahead and save the money on buying a new subru wrx I love thos bad boys or a scion frs.
Its that expensive because of all the labor involved. +parts aren't cheap. It really isn't too super hard to do yourself. The hardest part would be fuel management. PS an 05 aveo isn't worth anything near 8k
He s right a shop will charge u big $. If u wanna drop a couple grand look into a rotrex supercharger. I thought about it but 1. I have an aveo n the supercharger is really high priced. 2. As stated above fuel management is the key (this is a prob with obdII so stand alone is the best eng management 3. The sonic motors can swap into our cars. Stop modding your car n put $ away for a 1.8 or 1.4 t swap you can find the motors for around 1500 and the 1.8 should mate to your trans. You will need the 09+ aveo ecu n harness or rip as much as possible out of the donor car.
My aveo has 100k miles and never wrecked new trans new almost everything non engine related new cluch new flywheel new thermostat. Muffler tint intake... how is it not worth 8 grand?
Getting 8 from kbb. Plus the money thats in it. Im paying 15 for this because of interest and high apr. Lol im stupid but I needed a car. Ima try to refinance so im not paying so much but still its just sad...
8 Grand? Really?
Reality check.
Dude, put the pipe down. A 9 year old Aveo with 100K miles? Worth about 2K.
Don't believe me, take it to a dealer and try to trade it, see what they offer, or...
Go to webuyanycar.com and see what they will pay. That is what your car is worth.
Or you could try to list it for 8K in a auto shopper and see what happens.....
Kelley Blue Book
That's for an auto Lt. Yours is manual, so that's money off, and I'm not sure if its Ls or Lt so I went high.

Buy a turbo manifold for a b16/18, cut off the flange that goes to the engine. go to a machine shop and have them make a flange out of 1/2'' thick steel, in the size of the stock exhaust manifolds header. weld that (or have the machine shop weld that) onto the honda turbo manifold.
BOOOM bolt that on and you have a turbo( $300 if you shop around). now to make it functional....
Bigger injectors
Oil lines
Intercooler
intercooler piping
some form of fuel management.
And 100's+ little peices to make it work correctly
then your still saftley only getting like 150hp
In reality an engine swap with a full harness will likely be around the same price, with alot better result.
1st gen mazda6 3.0- 220hp, very compact
chevy cobalt- SS, turbo or supercharged, over 200hp. the 2.2 will fit aslo and give over 150
Cadillac Catera 3.0 v6 200hp havent measured this one, looks ok in size
Cruze/sonic 1.4t & 1.8, both fit, the 1.4t with some tuning and bolt ons, bigger intercooler i see at 170ish online
Suzuki Aerio 2.3l makes 155. measured a friends and it will clear
Any honda engine, they have tons of aftermarket available and are easy to find.
Pontiac grand prix gtp, buick gs 3800 v6 3.8 supercharged engines would be great, have not measued these, make between 240-260hp
Just gotta fab mounts, spend time to wire the harnesses, make the accessories work. alot more payout for you
ok chill i was wrong. you guys calm down. im not looking to resell my car its a p.o.s that i would never want anyone to drive lol. buttt thank you USA for the actually helpfull info. and pickles i dont under stand you sig picture...?
and mine is the ls. whats the difference between the two?
Trim line.
Lt has more options. And you can only get an auto with the lt
sooo it would prob be best to over look getting a turbo for this 1.6 L engine go with a HONDA that i know and love and rock out with my you know??
Also ive never done a engin swap.. but to me wouldnt i have to change the trans??? i just got a brand new one and i would hate to waist it but than again i still have to find a jdm engine that i trust.
yes to the trim levels. If you read the article ''riggin a header'' it explains how to use a Honda header on an aveo, you can do the same with a Honda turbo manifold. I see them for like $80 on eBay. You would need the donor cars tranny for a swap, but I got quoted 650 from a local junkyard for a Mazda 6 engine and tranny (76k, running, side damage on car, left axle is bad) I need the harness and a lot of other stuff from under the hood, and in the car really, but looks to be around a grand for all the parts. Very long term project for me, but doable
yeah i just dont have the experience. and this car is my only car and it would have to be a over the weekend job....
i know people who say they can do it... but they would charge me 100 a hr to do it... hahaha right. for 40 + hp its really not worth it to me. i just love the sound of a blow off... oh well. still looking for a wing tho.?
