Cool 2010 chevy aveo5 just a few questiions

I just purchased a 2010 chevy aveo5 for my wife and I have been hearing all types of different things bad and good bout the aveo she currently only gots 36,000 miles on the vehicle currently no problems but just wanted to ask you guys is there anything that I should do to the engine or just anything in general to make sure everything is good and sound Just so you guys know there is nothing currently wrong with the vehicle just wanted some tips on any trouble spots with the car that I should change for the better of the aveo I was thinking bout changing out the spark plugs with platinum bosch spark plugs and also putting a gates timing belt kit with water pump in the vehicle

i only run the stock ngk. I have tried other plug types and brands and the car would not run for me. Others have had more luck though, but I don't drive like its a subcompact econobox.

The belt on the 2010 (09+ actually) is "good" for 100k miles. I wouldn't worry about that yet unless you are concerned about the year age of the belt.

the things to look for a general car stuff, ALL the bushings for the suspension need to be watched, but nothing is really like an every aveo needs this replaced.

I too have an Aveo5, a 2009. It's my wife's car. She loves it - and if she's happy, I'm happy. Ours has 26K miles on it. We bought it new and it has virtually no problems.

As usual I agree with rabbit, except for the plugs. Do you know whether the coil pack and plug recall was done? The recall was done on mine at around 20K, it's running smoothly, and my attitude is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

IMHO the suspension is of a very cheap, crude design. If anything gives us trouble over the years, it probably will be that.

I only run NGK coppers and change them every year regardless of mileage. My 09 has 90K on the odometer and Ive had no mechanical issues, but I have had 5 oxygen sensors, and an additional MAF....1 of the O2 sensors was my fault-mishandling. Other than that the car is much better than the average press it receives.

I owned a '04 prior to my 2010. In my opinion, the '09's and up are light years ahead in terms of quality and reliability.

I replaced the plugs with NGK coppers as well, and the gas mileage really woke up. I wouldn't worry about the timing belt kit until you get alot closer to 100,000 miles.

I have an 09 5 door with 116k miles with no major issues. Timing belt done at 95k, oil changes every 5k and tires about every 50k or so. Other than that the intake rubber part is falling apart allowing too much air in and giving me a check engine light but that's an easy fix too.
