im not sure if i should take u seriously on the F&F4 part, but if they do, that will be a godsend because it will spark interest in aveos and more than likely it will spark more aftermarket interest in our cars.

i wouldnt be suprised if this showed up in F&F4....personally i think it would be a horrible disaster if it was....getting interest for F&F lovers is not a good thing...the only thing we would see an increase of ricers on here with plastic spinners and decals...the aveo wont get help from the big name companies, sorry but its the truth. why? well the number one reason would be that they wouldnt hardly sell any parts. There are few members on here that would actually pay what its cost to get quality parts for a car they bought because it was cheap. The only way we will get parts is thru smaller companies.
Re: Konig(Supercharged Ecotec Swapped) Aveo (56K Warning)
Not all of us are not able to afford parts. I've had to source parts from places like Singapore and Canada, and some of the parts are not even made anymore, like my Isotta short shifter. If the aftermarket was more robust for Aveos, it would not have taken me four years to get as far as I have with mine.

Re: Konig(Supercharged Ecotec Swapped) Aveo (56K Warning)
i agree and disagree with u(aveosam) at the same time. yeh we would get alot of ritzily(not really sure if thats a word) done up aveos, but at the same time, i think it would entice people to buy an aveo. with more people having aveos, there would be a bigger following, thus the aveo revolution would really begin. civics are the same. kids saw civics in f&f and boom, there was an even larger civic craze than before. all of sudden kids everywhere were throwin cans and wings on their cars like no other. granted thats not what we want, but it holds the same principle, and also the fact that the civics already had decent aftermarket support helped as well, i beleive that if more people had aveos, there would be more demand for aftermarket parts. the aveo can be made to look good and feel good, just takes a lil love. but the same goes for every car. but for now, we are stuck paying a crapload for custom parts and spending the time to build things ourselves.

if you would have read, you would see that i didnt say everyone cant......
p.s.- intrax springs are 1.5" drop all around not 2"
Re: Konig(Supercharged Ecotec Swapped) Aveo (56K Warning)
man you know theres some serious cash in that car!!
Re: Konig(Supercharged Ecotec Swapped) Aveo (56K Warning)
Spec-r and i dropped some serious cash into our kits and the damn thing still aint done. the aveo is a bitch to try and fit things. not a whole lot of room to work and of course when you are missing a crucial piece, that dont help things along either.
anywho, i like the konig aveo and would love to be able to hop in and take it for a spin.
Re: Konig(Supercharged Ecotec Swapped) Aveo (56K Warning)
its a nice concept but the ecotec swap sounds like too much....it would be nice to see a shop work with the 1.6L and do a rotrex supercharger setup.....make the 1.6 high-reving and put a good size rotrex on there and you could make enough power to make the aveo quick...less work, plus now that jackson racing is using rotrex's in their kits, youll better be able to find them in the use.
Re: Konig(Supercharged Ecotec Swapped) Aveo (56K Warning)
Now, I am not a huge fan of riced out cars (note the strange looking cheesegrader hooded model shown in an earlier post), but some rice is good. I mean, if it generates interest in the model, and creates more aftermarket sources, it can't be all bad.
Mind you, I am not in the market for a body kit or any of that, but someone may be. Moreover, when aftermarket suppliers start taking up a car, they offer other cool aftermarket supplies, not just body kits, but guage kits, interior upgrades, custom (model specific) audio supplies, and the likes.
I don't see the Aveo going away anytime soon. Talking to the local dealership this afternoon while I was getting the oil changed, one of the salesman told me that the Aveo was their top selling car in the last couple months. With the gas prices and such, it would make sense. The craze is catching on.
I figure it won't be long before you see a growth in Aveo aftermarket supplys, at least I hope so.
Re: Konig(Supercharged Ecotec Swapped) Aveo (56K Warning)
high gas prices = more aveos bought = more aveo aftermarket = woohoo!

Ever here the the song by the Talking Heads "Nothing but Flowers"? Thats it kids. We're gettin small!!
Re: Konig(Supercharged Ecotec Swapped) Aveo (56K Warning)
Hey everyone! I think that car was engineered pretty well. The swap was good, and everything looks clean and presentable. Love the exhaust relocation... :) I'd love to hear it and see it in action in PERSON!
I don't understand the width of the rear tires, however. Usually, you see a track car with wider rear tires-you know, the big performance stuff?! I don't see why the wheel-well would get in the way if they relocated everything else? Is it the size of stuff in the back? HHHMMMM....
