Just a romanian Aveo
Hi there,
My name is Bogdan and I`m an Aveo owner. Since every time I`m searching for an improvement of my car this forum pops up on the first page, I decided to create an account and share opinions with you guys.
My car is a 2007 1.4 16v version. It's blue, and I bought it as "full options" (LT) without the automatic gearbox (I'm a manual fan).
This is my car in 2007, when it was new :

I will post more info on the car only if anyone is interested in a poor romanian Aveo hehe.
Have a nice evening.

Thank you and yes, the blue does look great. Here's some pics with my other car and an incident I had with the Aveo :(

It has definitely seen more than this:

You guys don't really must much around here, eh? :D
Replaced the original signal light bulb with a silver one (didn't like the orange color in the head lights).

Painted calipers in a somewhat Ferrari red.

This looks so much better in black (it has some continuity with the windows).

Black tint on signal and backwards lights.

Now that's an interesting mod. What did you do to the hood to make it look that way?

Fiber glass hood extension. Too bad it's become too common in my country :(.

This will probably be my last post on this forum since I noticed there isn't any interest for this project, so.. :)

Above you can see how the car sits on -40mm sport springs (shock absorbers soon to follow), which is quite a difference from this :

the boser is well done. i was thinking of doing that, but think i might do the rear instead.
-
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what "boser" means and I don't want to mistake. :)
-
the extension on the hood.
-
Oh, thank you. Thanks, I know it's well done, one of the best done it. I have plans for further exterior mods as well, I will visit the same person.
-
beautiful pics.
your car looks very sharp. you prove that a sedan can look just as good as a hatch.
i love your project. gives me inspiration for mine.

Thank you for your thoughts. I still have to make it lower, though. :)

Others say it stands out from the other daily cars in the parking lot.

My greatest satisfaction is when someone asks : "What have you done to it? It's different. Tell me about your mods". That's all I need to go on.

I spotted a hatchback Aveo when looking in the first picture you posted above me ... nice Aveo you got!
-
Thank you. And yes, there are 2 hatches in the parking lot.
-
Bogdan, your aveo is great, definitely stands out of the crowd. Did the grill come with a Chrome finish? Did you paint over it?
-
I was thinking about doing something similar with the hood extensions on my Lumina, now I wish I did. Its nice to see it actually done on a car though. Looks sweet.
-
Jumping in a little late here but Welcome to the forums Bogdan! Nice ride!
-
The grill came with a chrome finish (you can see pictures of the car when it was new on the first page). It's not painted, I just have black mat film over it, and a very dark transparent film over the Chevy emblem.
Sidewinder, NYChevoo, thank you.
-
Wow, you're car look so f*king mad
-
Thanks, Sathirel. Changed a couple of filters today, blocked the EGR valve and took out the sound resonator from the intake. Result : the car pulls quite better even under 3000 rpm and has a sporty sound.
-
I can attest that pulling the resonator (just don't do it how I did) is much better for the car. It pulls better passing on the highway and just sounds better overall frankly. I think I may get a high flow K&N for it next. Not that any of that will be happening anytime soon though.
-
I have many plans too, but I'll just have to wait for the spring to start making them happen. I want the winter to pass before making it even lower & stuff.
-
those mods are very nice. the headlamps mod, its just mind blowing! .. im thinking of doing that to my aveo. i want to put some 15 inch rims, and the aveo LS bodykit, with the headlamp mod that you did.!! looks amazing! congraths dude
-
I prefer the hatchback over the sedan but your front end looks pretty badass- possibly one of the best I ve seen. Good mods.
-
Hey dude im from vzla and i want to do that mod on my hood to. How do you did it! Its fiberglass or metal!? Do you got pictures of the process, when you made it!, i want to do it by myself! But i've never worked with fiberglass!! . Or if yoy have somo scheematics or measurements! To how to do it! Thanks in advance!
