      You'll have trouble with the tranny. The D16s supposed to be good for 160lbsft. This is sorta a rumour but it's seam to work out well. You can always put in a D20 (good for 200lbsft) but if your going all out it might be worth building the D16 up, It's probably lighter. Also I sell clutch kits that can handle up to 700whp so no problems there

      wow id be so happy if i got 160 lb/ft of torque. its sad.
      You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

      High 15s isn't bad considering stock is mid 17s. That's running faster than a 2.3 L Mazda 3 stock... Sentra Spec V is only mid 15's.

      Yeah, but that was at ATCO. I would be running 11s if I was there.

      i never raced my kalos (aveo) 1.4 16v but i got 75 MPH in 15 sec. that means tha i can go 1/4 mile in mid 15's?

      noooo, completely different, if your car did hit 75 from a dead stop in 15 seconds, then I assume you would end up faster at the finish line but those extra 3+ seconds could be traction or takeoff in the beggining, or maybe crossing the line because the car has very slow acceleration after around 75-80mph.

      I might have had the fastest Aveo with a time of 16.0. That was my '05 that was completely gutted with slicks and skinnies in the rear though. I look forward to the track opening back up again in the spring, so I can see what this '10 Aveo will do stock.

      your 10 will probably be a little slower, unless the taller gearing lets you eliminate a shift. but the taller gearing is worse. for drag racing..

      I'm expecting mid 18s with it. Like I said the only reason my '05 was running 16.0s was because I had it completely gutted, < 1800 lbs and was also running on drag slicks and MT skinnies in the rear. I do wish B&M still made a short shifter for this car though because the shifting is horrible. I bought the one they made for the '05 and it made a HUGE difference. I know you're not talking about the gear shifting when you're talking about the gear ratios, I just wanted to point out the horrible shifting anyways.

      I baselined my car at a local 1/8th mile..It ran an 11 sec flat..cant remember the mph..backed it up twice. All I did was take out the air filter, left about 4k and powershifted 2nd n 3rd about 6k. In my opinion, not bad for the little car. I now have cai and plan on doing the underdrive pulley and exhaust and going back. It should pick up quite a bit but w/o a way to tune these cars I dont see it getting in the 9s w/0 further mods and extensive weight reduction
