Getting rims, need help!

Postby g30360 » Wed Mar 17, 2010 8:15 pm

I need to get some new rims soon, its time to take off the winter wheels and I don't want to put on the stock all season wheels, I am currently trying to sell them locally.

But here is what I want, I have never bought wheels for any car I have had so bare with me.

I want 15"

I would like the possibility to lower in the future (not much maybe 1'"?)

I would like to be slightly taller and wider then stock. (not worried about speedo. being off)

A wider stance overall would be nice.

I don't want any rubbing!

this is what I am looking at right now on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15-ROTA- ... ories#shId

it does have tire options,

what do you guys think of the tires it comes with, or the rims?

any suggestions or advice?

Rims are nice but for me i think the tires are alil narrow for a 7 in rim. I like a more squared off look so i would use a 205 or so but if to just get rolling 195 will work fine.

Nice rims. Definitely run 205/50/R15's. Also check your local Craiglist, because Honda owners sell Rota Slips like hotcakes on there...pretty cheap too.

I am thinking of going new. AND after a bit more searching I found 16s IN CANADA, unless its fake or something because the eBay account seems a bit sketchy, no recent sales.. but I guess some people dont always sell.

ROTA WHEELS SLIPSTREAM 16”X7.0” / FULL ROYAL GUN METAL
4X100 – 40mm BACK SPACING --- Light Weight 13.8 Lbs.

What type of tires would work good on those?

Am I going to rub if I go with 205/45/R16

The sets on ebay all come with those. still deciding if I should get just rims off ebay and get tires here, (have a decent source for that.)

You would be about an inch wider and .6" taller. You shouldn't rub, unless you drop then you would. Speedo would be 1.2mph faster @60mph.
