Wow, dig that last website.

I'm sold.

The only thing I can see with its design is a little too much front overhang as viewed from the side, but everything else is cool enough that I could live with that.

I'm surprised the writer actually made reference to the Vega, I thought hat was cool.

In the world of sensationalized journalism the poor misunderstood Vega is the car to scorn and scoff off as "americas worst car ever" So the fact that this writer even brought the name up AND excluded typical journalistic judgment on the car, I think thats cool.

By concept the Vega was similar.. Chevrolets smallest and most economical car of the time.
Mechanically the Vega turned into the Monza which was basically an engineering guinee pig for the 82 up F-body platform. Thats not to say that any 80's or 90's Camaro is just a glorified Vega...but well...I'm just sayin'...  8-)

Any how this latest micro car concept draw's more lineage - in my book - to the J-body platform from 1981.

This New RS... I'm wondering...
is it still based on the orignal Aveo's chassis design from Daewoo?
Or is this one based on an entirely new platform?

And also how much would you guys pay for one of these???...

Let's say, the exact car was on the dealers lot, and you were able to acquire reasonable financing for 99% of the purchase price .. For me 'reasonable' would be around 5% given my credit status. ..

What would you pay if it was just another redesigned Aveo with lots of bells and whistles and the latest styling trends dressed up to look like an expensive car on the dealers lot ?

Is this car still going to have the rock bottom price of the original Aveo?

The new aveo is based on the new vauxhall (corsa i think?) platform.

its almost and exact match, and even the drivetrains are "borrowed"

if it uses a vauxhall driveline, then there is already a huge A/M parts following..

only because it is going to be bigger than the current aveo i think it is going to be more. sort of a hatchback version of the cobalt, and the cobalt is being replaced with the cruze which is more focus sedan like. I have a feeling the spark is what is actually going to be in the aveo price range. but who knows. chevy has always overly overlapped their own car segments..

that said, knowing how much the options take the cost of the current aveo up (like $18k?) if the new aveo RS costs near that much i think it will be out of its own market. IT IS ONLY 140 hp still... not like the 260 hp cobalt ss that is lik 20k base.

wut i think is goin to mess the new aveo up is the 1.4L engine its coming with.
If it had the 1.6 or maybe a 2.0 with the turbo itll be a nice car to buy.
I agree with rabbit that they may price the aveo around the same price of the cobalt.

they said the price is to start around 13 to 14k, still cheaper than a fit, but better in everyway

a base aveo now is 10-11. so the base new aveo will be 13?

so the rs will be around 20 ish?

a base fit is 13500. if you can find one. yaris was 11500 if you can find base.

does that mean the spark will be 9-10

the rs should be around 17 or so, the prices should be comparable to the aveo models now, with the options of course, but why buy a yaris or fit when you can buy a turbocharged aveo for almost the same price, and the aftermarket will be large, plus the new aveo looks better than the yaris or fit, and will be way faster than the two. But of course, its not a honda or toyota, so it will be a POS

turbo charged does not mean much when its only 140 hp.

you could buy a $13000 sx4 have 150 hp, and awd with a 6 speed
