I have a budget of $2000 to spend until winter, and im looking at...

Springs, new set of tires, maybe rim and alignment around $600-700 max

Headers $400 or so

That leaves me with a grand give or take, i was thinking a CF hood and then taking it to a place by my school for tint/alarm/buff and such..and if i had the money finsih it off with a rear strut bar

well and the pulley from the group buy as well

im also going to take out my back seat and use it in my dorm :P also thinking about stripping it of the A/C and selling it as a kit, could return some decent money from something i do not use at all

New tires - that's kind of a necessity. Forget about springs, CF hood, and rims... just pay a visit to Keith in PA and have him swap in the manual transmission and maybe buy a set of coil overs while you're there that way you'll improve your MPG, solve the problem with springs (and will be adjustable in case you want to go even lower later), and feel like man, not like a grandma 'cause you'll be driving a stick... And then you can see what you can do with the rest of your money, if there is any. 8)

I think I've heard you mention you have a fair amount of debt on the car? I know its not exciting at all, but putting it towards actually owning the car would be a good financial decision.

If not that, I know you dislike the auto trans. I'd try to find a salvage yard with the parts and swap a manual trans into it.

+1 on getting rid of debt. But if that's taken care of - take a trip to PA... 8)

covered those ideas, im putting my car in my name with a $2000 downpayment, making me owe about 7500 and payments at about 175 or so, and im planning to go up there in the summer im guessing (he does not know it yet :P )

i really wanted to get a miata during next summer though after i found a new place to live, and wanted to put of a tranny swap until i got confortable driving the miata instead (the trip to PA for me is about 1200 miles and about a days time if i drive straight through :(

aveo is being paid off by my senior year of my BA degree anyways and i need tomake some payments to build my decent credit score

ill have $6000 the first of september but dont want ot blow it all away :P

Your car is paid off?

My excess it going to pay off my cars, fix the Jeep, and maybe purchase a Pop-up trailer or pay down the second mortgage. Tomorrow I will decide on which items happen. IF I decide 'none of the above' and can get qualified, I might sell or trade the Jeep and Aveo, to go get a 2002 Dodge 2500 diesel. The one I am looking at already is chipped and has the intake done.
