all I was saying is that the 2.0 from the forenza uses all of the existing wiring in the aveo. No need to do modifications to make gauges work properly or anything like that. Just plug and play.

A catera motor will bolt in place, however I believe it will require the ecu amongst other things.
A 2.0 from a forenza/optra drops in and uses the same ecu, although you need the one from a forenza...

Looks like a fun project. Should rebuild with higher compression pistons since you have to rebuild anyways.
