      They're good little cars I have two 2004's one with 115k the other 183k......watch the timing belt, the plastic thermostat housing & the valve cover gasket.

      You make some very valid points, all very good but probably the best point you made was about the quality of replacement pumps....I worked in Advance Auto for a few years as a retirement...

      Understand your point....I've installed many oil pressure gauges in my old cars over the years ( it was a lot easier on old vehicles) , but I also carried a spare fuel pump when they had high mileage...

      If it didn't burn oil and everything was always maintained ( oil, filters,antifreeze,brake& master cylinder flushes....) I'd invest the few hundred more and see if it made it to one more 60k timing...

      225k on the original alternator & fuel pump !! Pretty darn good.........ordering parts now the for third timing belt on my 175k Aveo. I leave the plastic cover off makes it easier, but still a pain.
