Thread: Blue :: 2006 Chevrolet Aveo5 LT (Garage entry)

I am an auto enthusiast with decades of auto enjoyment in Jaguars, Audis and Mazda RX-7s; my (bought new) 67 Mustang is still in the family.

I'm absolutely thrilled with this Aveo, purchased new in 2006! Those anti-Aveo journalists should open their eyes to the design excellence of this car. I'm pretty demanding of my cars, and Daewoo has engineered every feature with precision and imagination. From the useful clock placement, a discrete binnacle where it can be seen by all, to the classic primary instruments which are not only very clear and elegant, but dead on accurate.

The overall exterior is attractive and spacious with a nice wide hatch door, unlike some of the competition.

The ride is excellent. It's comfortably compliant yet with a full load it never hits the bump stops.

Power is a bit less than I think it should be but it's reasonably quiet. The auto transmission is consistent and smooth; my only real beef is the unusually delayed upshifts after heavy acceleration resulting in frustrating over-reving.
What an accomplishment.
