      Where are good spots to use a floor jack?

      <facepalm>

      I usually just wiggle my way under for oil changes, and I've never used one with the aveo, and was wondering where the ideal spots are...

      Whole front? Whole Side? Whole Rear?

      Where do you put your jackstands... on the notched jack points? Seems like it might bend...

      Thanks!

      on the floor:P

      Whole front:
      i use the k frame @ the dogbone mount to jack up the front, (after i drive it up on boards, to get a jack under the pinch weld, to get a jack under the car to reach the kframe) then i put the jack stands on the k frame near the front on the control arm.

      Whole rear:
      center of the rear beam. (i only need to put it on boards for the back) put the jack stands on the frame mounted side of the pivot bushing

      i've never jack up just a side.. but if one front wheel, i use the k frame from behind the wheel to @ the rear control arm mount..

      How do you take a wheel off while on ramps?

      The original poster was asking regarding oil changes. As a safety concern jack stands or ramps are a great idea if you are crawling underneath the car with ramps being the more convenient- though- chocking wheels, setting the brake, and putting in gear ( if the engine isn't going to run ) would accompany choosing ramps.
