      Install Guages

I would really appreciate somebody posting some how to's for installation of aftermarket gauges. I've never done it before and have only read how tos on different types of cars. It would make my life a lot easier if I saw exactly what was needed to do them. I'm specifically wanting to install air/fuel ration, voltmeter, and either oil pressure or oil temp. even pics of your stuff already done would be appreciated
      thanks guys :P

theres something somepeople need to understand about the aveos. not everyone has a how to specific for these cars, do your research and just do it and report back. u live and learn. not trying to bring down your thread, just saying.

      Re: Install Guages

gauges are pretty self explanatory to their kit. mechanic vs electrical gauges are different.

if you have basic mechanical skills and can find the stock sensors on the car you can install gauges.

as far as mounting the gauges themselves. that isn't as hard as it seems its mostly difficult to make it look good.

the real question is, 1. does adding aftermarket gauges affect the warranty? 2. for the most part adding gauges to an aveo is just for looks, there is an idiot light for everything. and i doubt you need to know more specific numbers of anything, but that might just be from my background where less is more?

I dont see why that would affect warranty. I've read about how to do these enough to feel comfortable with attempting all this but I've seen quite a few cars on here who've already installed some and so I figured any pics would be nice.

i'm not saying it will affect the car negatively. but dealers and manufacturers are looking for loop holes to get out of the warranty.

if you have a mod friendly dealer you will be fine. but if you "modify" the oil line by installing a oil pressure/temp pickup and a few weeks later you engine seizes, they have a right to say you "modified" the oil system and not cover it.
