    Thread: How to remove the manual gear knob on my Aveo

      That's what I've been wondering. I haven't seen any pictures under the boot to see what part disconnects to get the lever to pull out. And I'm a little nervous to just try prying at stuff under there because I really don't want to break it.

      I hate pressed on/ glued on knobs. Or stuff like this where it's all one piece.

      Is really necessary to disassemble and how hard was that? or do you think a heat gun could work?
      btw it looks great on your car.

      I took mine out and used the hot water trick. It's not hard to take the lever out. There's a little silver clip on the bottom of the shaft you gotta pop off and it slides right out.

      I'm wondering if I can use a torch to get the original knob off? It seems very complicated to remove the whole piece and I have a pice that can tighten to the stick I just wanna get it off so that the extension can go on the end also my car grinds a lot when I put it in reverse any ideas anything helps I've put 4k into this car
