ive done a similar mod with my friend's 3000gt headlights.
      they were glass though.
could the heat make the plastic headlights less clear?
will the 2005 hatch headlights come apart the same way?

Hey guys. What's the longest part of the process, waiting for the paint to dry? Just trying to time it and see if I can get it all done in one day. Thanks!!

Probably. If not the paint drying, then Sanding down the headlights housing to rough up the Chrome. Self etching paint/primer would speed that up though.

Why do you need side markers, I don't understand that concept...what are they replacing if you remove the reflectors...the original light is still shining, right?

Amber Side marker Lights are REQUIRED by US law as a part of FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) 108, and the PC194 bulbs installed at the factory are the Typical Clear Variety.

I don't follow. Is that the little yellow rectangle on right side in last picture...or it's not yellow in last couple pictures. I don't understand where this bulb would go or what exactly it is he's getting rid of and what he's replacing it with

      Hey guys!
To save others the research time: 2005 models are the exact same method!
Sanding with a very fine grain is a must. The paint has trouble sticking to any chrome, even tiny bits. Sand until white plastic!
Using water while sanding speeds things up significantly. Dunno why.

Hope this helps you gen 1 owners!
