OK, my grounding kit has been installed for probably just over a year...I am not running an amp, but I did upgrade my headlights to Sylvania Silverstars. I do have my phone charger pugged in 24-7 and my XM radio as well. I am considering a new stereo (Eclipse) and speakers (JL or Boston), no amps yet, but that is always a possibility...

I'm considering installing a HO alternator just for 'peace of mind' with winter coming I don't want to get stranded with a dead battery.

Is C3 the only place to get one?

Not trying to take a sale away from C3, but I don't think you will benefit from an HO from what you describe. The ALT only supplys amps when running, so it will not guarrantee you don't get stranded with a dead battery, I would just buy a new battery if yours is questionable. You will only benefit if your power draw total is more than the stock ALT at 85 amps. Silverstars, cell phone, xm, all draw minimal. Amps, playstations, laptops, all draw considerable juice. To calculate you current draw, use this formula P=ExI P=power in watts E=difference of potential in volts and I is current in amps. You know the E is around 13-14.4 volts and usually know the watts so you can calculate current. i.e. 300 (rms) watt amp at 14 volts draws 21.5 amps. hope this helps.
