it should be fine on an 8" rim, i tried a set of 195/45r15 on a 9 for some stretch and they would not seat properly.
the only thing you need to figure out is where the edge of the tire is with the offset change. Any easy way to do that is to cut a cardboard piece into the difference between current and the new set up.. and then hold it up to see if it rubs.
I'm getting 195/50R15 for my 15x10"s so I'm pretty sure that tire would fit your rim. I have 205/50R15 right now. I wanted to say if you got the Diamond Racing Wheels, you might need a wheel spacer because my Diamond Racing Wheels need wheel spacers to go on my Aveo. My Aveo is a 2005 LS model so it might be a little different! Good Luck!

I got my tires in 195/45for the front 15x7s and 205/50 for the rear 15x8. I will be mounting them tomorrow and dipping them. I will test drive for rubbing and try to post pics by next weekend -I need a new cable for USB port changed to 195s out back the 205 was a Lil bulky
