      2004 aveo suspension problems

im having a problem with my suspention.. any help would be appreciated...

when i go over a bump it sounds exactly like a shock bottoms out.. i have replaced shocks, wheel bearings. i put it on a lift and tried to shake the rear axle too see if the bushings are bad and there was no play in it. the only other thing i could think of is i guess it could be the spring.. has anyone else had a similar problem??

      Most likely the strut mounts.

after replacing my shocks struts and springs, I still had a clunking noise over bumps, my issue ended up being the swaybar endlinks. When I had a noise in the rear, I had to get my car on a drive on lift and got under the car and actually shook the car itself to find out the bushing on passenger side at front of the dead axle asembly where it mounts to the unibody. And unfortunately, the bushings for the dead axle are not replaceable, I even called energy suspension to try and have one custom made, I ended up having to replace the entire dead axle assembly for 1 bushing. Almost forgot to mention, I have an 04 hatch which now sits on an eibach prokit mated with KYBs (front and rear)

there is a guy on here and ebay selling replacement bushings. its also on my list, but mine will be more performance oriented.

to op. did you replace the rear mounts as well? it could be the beam bushings, upper rear mounts, even a worn shock mount in the lower shock (not installed properly with shims etc) it could be the bump stops, or even springs. but spring problems often result in ride height change.

I'm starting to get funny noises back there. But the car still rides fine so I'm not going to freak out about it. Might crawl under and take a look sometime soon though. Don't want to do anything until I can afford a good upgrade or 5.

sway bar end links being changed on my 04 hatch tomorrow, the noises have been getting progressively worse for quite a while
also changing the inner left tie rod. an inspection i had around 2 years ago told me i should change the inner left tie rod, which i never ended up doing (car drove fine at the time).

now i get a pretty bad wobbly knock/grind/crunch noise when turning to the right, along with the usual assortment of noises.
can't wait to see if any noises will remain after tomorrow!
