Dash mat opinion. Worth the install ???

I was thinking about finally putting in a 'Dash Mat' in my Aveo. The dash is still in perfect condition. After all these years in the south Fla. HEAT and SUN!! No cracks, very little fade...only on the airbag passenger 'cover', it seems a bit lighter.

Well I wondered if anyone has installed one of these in your car, has it lasted, do you like it, is it worth the money? Most of all, if you put it in, and you decided to take it out, or replace it... did the glue from the Velcro, that you stick onto the dash, to hold the mat down, did it leave behind glue or ruin the dash where it is attached?

I want to do it, but if that glue residue is going to eat the dash, or cant be removed IF I remove it, after a year or so...will I be stuck with strips of damaged dash left behind?? Can anyone tell me their experience with the Dash Mat....good or bad. Thanks.

I had one in a different car. It was nice. I wouldn't worry about the adhesive. A bit of goo gone should take care of it.

I notice that Amazon Warehouse always has these on discount. They're likely returned after customers receive them and figure they aren't their style. It wouldn't hurt to check out Amazon Warehouse for one that would fit your car first.

Well my Aveo is FAR from a 'beater', and the idea is to keep it looking 'new'. The dash isnt damaged in anyway, and it looks new inside and out. So i was just asking if anyone had put on in their car, and how it worked out..

I normally end up installing one on all of our cars , but I do not use the Velcro . Just let the DashMat sit up there . Have to reach up there every once in a while and adjust its position a little , but no big deal .

I usually end up paying around $ 40 or less for a DashMat .

      Best of luck ,
      Wyr
      God bless
