      Cruise Control

      I have a 2011 Manual 1.6 Aveo5 E-tec that I want to install cruise control into.

Now ive done a lot of research and found out that I need to connect the unit to the grey and brown wire at the knee.

The problem comes in that I have a right hand drive car, not left hand drive like in America.

Could anybody shed some light on where I can find these wires?

Have you taken off the panel and looked for them? I would think that they should still be near the steering column, just on the right side in your case.

Pulled the panel off, there was no metal bracket behind the plastic panel. And once I was in there, all the wires were neatly hidden away from sight.
Only wires visible were the ones at the fuse box and the airbags.

the wiring in other countries is different. Does your car had drive by wire, or a throttle cable? IIRC the last african aveo on these boards had a 1.2 or 1.4? 8 valve with a throttle cable. So this mod only works on drive by wire cars.

Throttle cable. I'll have a look around for a servo install

Hi, I have an 06 Aveo LS and was thinking about installing cruise but am fairly unsure about how to go about it. Is this a simple process where parts are essentially plug and play, or is there a lot of custom engineering to be done?

Super simple. It's 2 wires. Read through this entire thread very carefully. Just have to decide where you want to mount your controls. Go back and read from the first page on. But this page has some good phots. It's a $40 upgrade. Enjoy.
