      Question What Brand Kit

Well I'm purchasing a 2007 Aveo today for 2,500 bucks from a dealer I used to work at and I know I will be replacing the timing belt with a kit. It has 105,000 miles on it and runs and drives great (for now).

My question is, what brand kit are ya'll using? I've found multiple kits on amazon, and I'm wondering if those are sufficient enough. Or should I look at OEM?

Thank you in advance and look forward to being in this forum!!

As long as the kit comes with belt, idler pulley, tension pulley. water pump is your choice, i just recently did mines, but my water pump wasnt leaking so i just put the belt and pulleys in.

Thanks for the reply! And what brand kit did you use and where did you purchase it from? I've got my eye on 2 different full kits on Amazon and they are both under 100 bucks. Which seems cheap so that's why I am here. 👍

Consider using RockAuto and the 5% discount found here on Aveoforum. Any of the brands they sell should be completely fine. Pretty sure the Gates brand seems pretty popular.

I would be all for rockauto but I have a point system through work that I can redeem for auto zone and Amazon gift cards and I can get it free that way with the tools to do so. Thank you for the input though, and I will still keep it in mind!!

Look at the kits and look for the better idler pulley. that's the kit you want.

I bought my last kit from Car Quest. I don't remember the names. I was happy with what I got.
