First off it seems as though it should be one line and not two. Also looks to have hose clamps and no other hoses have clamps like that.
The shorter bigger section is some piece of goodyear hose and the fluid (water?) seems to be finding its way in between then material as seen in second pic. Lot even sure what that metal piece that is inserted into larger hose is.
Longer stretch is fuel line.
Something seems not stock here.

definitely not stock, and it looks like it is leaking. Cant really tell you what they did there, unless its a home made step down hose.
Do you happen to know what this line is called?

It would have been helpful if you had included the year. That looks like the 2009 and later engine.
Also, the hose clamps seen in the photo don't look original to the situation.Quote:

Nothing wrong with the screw type of hose clamps , I prefer them to the spring clamp .
Do not over think this . Just replace the hose & be done with it .
Clean ( rust & corrosion ) or replace the the metal fitting , if needed .

My best guess would be that someone had some sort of backflush kit installed in the hose at some point. Then they removed it and just put the two cut ends together with whatever they had lying around. Here's what the tap in my Aveo looks like right now:

If I removed the tap and just put the ends together, it would look similar to yours. So just pull the whole hose out, make sure there are no surprises inside it, and put in a new one.
Also, I always use screw clamps instead of spring clamps, and I'll replace the spring clamps with screw ones any chance I get. IMHO the screw clamps are much more reliable since you can fine tune the amount of pressure, and they provide a better seal. OEM spring clamps lose tension as they're removed and reinstalled, and might not have the right tension for aftermarket hoses.

1000% agree with you there Rabbit; went out and looked under the hood of Scoot Scoot, and what they have tapped is actually the coolant line for the Throttle Body Deicing loop; it looks like they completely removed the factory hard plastic line, and afro engineered a rubber replacement, which they used to insert that backflush tap.Quote:
