Does a cold air intake really work on these aveos?

Been looking to add this shiny pipe to my car but I'm skeptical as to if they work or not.
The stock intake already is positioned in a way that it takes air outside the engine bay. Will adding an air intake increase performance or is it just a cool looking accesory? I'm with an 06 aveo sedan.

If u have one please add your experience and if it's worth it.

if you were to look are the factory intake, it gets down to about an inch and a quarter in diameter in a T with the muffler.
This is in the pipe inside the fender well, but it is where all the air coming to the airbag travels. The CAI will remain the same size throughout. Even pulling off the muffler box, and/or opening the feed to the bumper section of the factory box does help the car breath. Between that and a less restrictive exhaust really help the fun drivability of the car. It probably adds a few hp too.

Awesome! All I wanted to hear. Will probably get one soon as well as a new cat. Lord knows that by 117,000 miles it's gotta be somewhat clogged up.

      cold air intake

no. looks cool. but more air means more fuel. the o2 and ecm will add fuel. lose gas mileage. my humble opinion.

I doubt you'd be able to notice any performance gains even with a retune. CAI looks better and can sound cool but that's about it.

A CAI can improve throttle response and sound. Power gain is negligible.
