Check engine light in freezing rain

I have a 2006 aveo, every time there's freezing rain, my check engine light comes on and will stay on for a few drives before it turns back off.
Is the freezing rain just a coincidence, or could it be what's causing the light to come on?
I haven't had the chance to pull codes from it because by the time I have a chance to scan it, the light is already off.

There's a lot of possible causes. It could be the plugs, coilpack, etc, so getting the code is the first step you should do.
