      Allen headed plugs in head..

What are they called and where can I get them? Just got an 04 Aveo in the shop with a smoking problem, was BAAAAAD.. Was told they were told it was a cracked head or block, after we tore it down we noticed that someone had been in there before, and forgot to replace one of these plugs! Yes, LOTS of smoke! Any help? Thanks..

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. Can you get a picture of it?

Quite odd. My best guess is it looks like they're probably pipe plugs. I'm guessing they had to drill an hole there and then plug it for something. The pain in the butt part is its probably a BSPT plug and NPT is the standard in the US. However, some of the smaller plugs are nearly identical and are interchangable.

Here is a site that should hopefully help you figure out what size plug you need: National Standard Taper Pipe Threads Size NPT Chart - Engineers Edge

As far as picking up plugs, you can order them from: McMaster-Carr.
