      Bender, take it to the dealer if you are having issues (and if it is still under warrenty as well). The 2nd gen aveo is different than the first, did you check the coil pack already? Also, if you diconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so, it will "reset" the car and the lights will go off, give that a try as well.

      read the code for the light. o2 sensor on an 09 is possible, it will affect fueling, but not sure about the hold light, i can make educated guesses though.

      Air cleaner? Do you mean air filter? I am always interested in learning. How did you determine that was the problem?

      yes the air filter. I had to replace the cylinder head and that was the one plug i didnt plug in because i was going to replace the tube that connects it to the fuel injection which has the sensor in it. when i plugged it in the light went off. maybe yours is shorted.

      QUOTE=azaveo;157426]Hey,
      i have a 2005 aveo that is giving me issues. the check engine light is flashing (p0300, random misfire. i checked/cleaned/regaped the plugs) check the wires and connections, everything looks good, no vacuum leaks that i see, egr seems ok), and i also at the same time have the "Hold" light flashing, and when it does so...the tranny will not shift into 4th gear, it just stays in 3rd. however when the hold light doesn't flash the tranny shifts smooth and fine into 4th.

      this is my first aveo....any idea's?[/QUOTE]

      Hi I wonder if you got that issues fixed if so I would be greateful to know how

      The OP never posted the outcome of his problem, and is unlikely to respond to your question. Happens way too often - problem gets fixed, but they can't be bothered to take a couple more minutes to report the result and help out someone else
      So you should either start a new thread or continue this one, describing your vehicle, year, history, and the problem (including any recent related repairs). And then after the problem gets fixed, help out everyone else by posting the fix

      I have a 2005 aveo. We just replaced the alternator and now the "hold" light is flashing. we disconnected the battery to reset it, but within a few minutes it was flashing again. Any suggestions? I checked the manual it just says to take it in to be checked. Never had a problem before now. Thank you!!!

      check to verify the wiring is correct, not pinched, not loose etc. the hold light requires proper spark signal and proper voltage to the transmission first.. then indicates if there are certain sensors failures
