1.8L in a 2004 Chevy Aveo via Sonic Engine?

Hello,

I just saw some nice photos of the 2012 Sonic. I would guess it has the same engine frame as an Aveo 2004 yes?

I am keeping my Aveo since it will be paid in Full coming month. What does anybody think of dropping the 1.8L engine of the Sonic in a 2004 Aveo? Pretty Stupid isn't it? Let me know what you think.

i was going to do it.. its different from an 04, but its close to the 09+

It can be done. But for the time and money I'd much rather go for the 1.4L turbo engine. Its got more go and better gas mileage. Its also already turbocharged so getting a few extra ponies is much easier.

the 09+ can go to the 1.8 engine for half or less the cost of the 1.4. And from my understanding it is @156 hp with a chip, intake, and new rear muffler (delete)..

The engines thats in the sonic is the same thats in the Vauxhal/Opel. We in SA only have the normal aspirated 1.4 and 1.6, no sign of 1.8 and they still thinking about the 1.4t. I think they going to leave that engine types for the Opel corsa that we also have in our market here which costs alot.
