      Suggestion for the moderators

I enjoy this list and appreciate the way that you guys that run it do it so well.

Lately I've been reading the various threads about fuel economy, and nearly always it is difficult to understand the stats mentioned, because a good number of the participants here are in Canada where liters, imperial gallons and kilometers are at odds with the American measurements of US gallons and miles. It gets very confusing without translation.

Sure, I could go 'do the math' to convert the numbers, but probably most people here (myself included) are probably not inclined to expend the effort to translate it completely and join in the discussion.

Is there any way to provide us with a program that would automatically or easily translate these measurements into a standard benchmark for comparison?

Another simple request is when we here are discussing fuel economy that we please state at the outset whether we have a manual or an automatic transmission. It can make a lot of difference, and it becomes a bit of a nuisance when it's left unsaid, often leaving the need to constantly inquire.

I think you might be hearing from some of those who live in "canadia".

If he is still planning on moving to Seattle/Tacoma area, he will be done with Alaska... You will miss it though, rain all year 'round is not as fun as snow all year 'round... I miss snow myself.

But to answer the original question, just use this link (keep it bookmarked or something): http://www.google.com/landing/searchtip ... conversion

Or you could have a google window open (in chrome browser you can just start typing in the address bar and it uses that as a google search window)
