I dont see Aveos been recalled. GM Daewoo, now GM Korea, was completely separate from GM Usa those years. Korean parts used instead. Plus, Aveos have been produced since 1999 by Daewoo Motors so nothing related to the GM recall mess. I own an Aveo5 LT and it has been reliable.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems - Autoblog

Another day, another 8 Million Cars Recalled by GM; they've already Recalled the T-200s, its only a matter of time before they recall the T-250s for something.

I just got a recall notice for a 2004 Aveo. 14093; Headlight switch or DRL module (both located on or near left side of steering column) could catch on fire. Parts not available, they will contact whenever they get parts... sounds like an old story...

Any reported incidents of fires with Aveos? Not sure if it's worth disabling the running lights until a fix comes out...or just disabling permanently.

from my understanding of the recall, it is the actual dRL module that is the issue. So disabling them is the fix, since you remove the box.

so now we have a Recall number for our cars. Thank you TimE for scanning and posting your Recall Letter so other Aveo Owners know what the "Dreaded Recall Letter of DOOOM" looks like.

Lol I just seen this, the DRL in mine went bad and kept draining the battery when the car was off, disconnected that a long time ago

aaaand a Month Later, I was RIGHT:

Another campaign covers the 1,968 examples of the 2009-2010 Chevrolet Aveo and the 2009 Pontiac G3 in the US. There are a total of 2,091 vehicles covered under this recall worldwide, but they include models not available in the US like the 2007 Chevy Optra in Canada and 2009 Pontiac Wave. The brake fluid in these vehicles can eventually cause longer pedal travel and reduced braking effectiveness. There are no reported crashes or injuries.
and with THIS little Develpment; I'm now in FULL PANIC MODE, doubting the Effectivness of Scootaloo's Brakes!
