I've honestly never used it since the day I bought the car, I really have no use for it. However I'll bet it's beyond handy for those that do need it.

Originally Chevrolet conceived of this as the slot machine feature, intending to call the Aveo the "Vegas" instead. (Remember the Chevy Vega?) But the big handle to be pulled got in the way of the turn signal lever. Besides, people stopped feeding coins into it once they realized there was never any payoff forthcoming...

It remains a place for young children to deposit coins into it, just for fun.
