      New here and multiple codes.

      I am new but have been reading forum for a couple of weeks.

      Some history first on issues:
      Recently started getting the P0300, u0100, P0700, and P0606.
      Fixed the P0300, random miss fire - fixed by replacing plugs,wires and coil pack.
      When replacing the plugs found oil in tubes, found the valve cover was lose and not
      tight. Tighten them, check yesterday no more oil. Also the plugs(were not tight either) had oil
      on threads.
      Now I am getting P0606 (ECM_PCM Processor), P2105, P2106, P0700, U0100, and P0700(a second time). Runs good when it doesn't shutdown, just before it shuts down, I notice a difference gas pedal/throttle response, I was paying closer attention today. This has happened a few times over the last 3 weeks. I have a code reader, gives me a lot of information under the P0606 code. I have cleared the codes from this afternoon.
      Also it seems to be worse when the weather warms up. At night when its cooler, it does not seem to shut down
      so far.

      Any insight or information. What should I tackle first. Clean the throttle body (drive by I think)?
      Found a place on to repair ECM and the TCM or just replace.

      I know this is a lot but need help much of the work so far I have done.
      Always willing to learn more.

      Thanks
      levidoug

      What year ? Im assuming (by P0300) this is an auto? Are the codes intermittent or do they fire at warm up? I have battled almost all of these, but it's a PITA unless you have a full time OBD reader so you can fiddle with the car and watch what triggers the codes.

      If it were me I would start by checking ALL grounds, especially G103 under the starter bolt, and the one under the battery, but I have no idea what year you have so I can't give to much advice as it may not even apply. You will also want to check the entire CAN bus circuit from the ECM to TCM and the harness between, but we can drill into that once you wipe out a few of the others.

      So if you clear codes and fire it up, which code do you get first? Does the speedo ever 'flip out' as it's acting up?

      Replacing the TCM/ECM should be your LAST step, and I don't know your patience level, you will need lots if you see the U0100 and it is intermittent, it took me months to nail that one, but I need more info.

      FYI (sourced from 2010 TIS) MY 2007

      P2105 = Throttle actuator control [forced engine shutdown]
      P2106 = Throttle control system performance [throttle limitation active]

      'DTC P2104, P2105, P2106, and P2110 indicate that a throttle actuator control (TAC) DTC is set that causes the engine control module (ECM) to command one of the following Reduced Power modes:

      * Forced engine idle
      * Forced engine shutdown
      * Throttle limitation
      * Limited engine speed'

      Just based on those codes, you will definitely want to check/clean the TB, might be sticking. Also check the battery, cranking volts are above 12v?

      Safe to assume the engine is not covered in ice during these codes? apparently this can trigger a chain reaction of codes.

      P0606 - Can fire if the TB is stuck/sticking.
      "This diagnostic applies to internal microprocessor integrity conditions within the engine control module (ECM) and the throttle actuator control (TAC) system. This diagnostic also addresses if the ECM is not programmed. "

      P0604 or P0606

      The ECM detects an internal condition for greater than 3 seconds.

      Slim chance you might have a bad ECM, but no way to know until you address the 2105/06 dilemma, and the U0100/P0700 mashup. Fun stuff!

      I have yet to see any DTC yet that would indicate a bad ECM, seems more like a stuck TB and a bad ground, or dirty connector on the CANBUS or a combo of all. I would strongly suggest vetting out each DTC in a logical fashion, (follow the TIS if you have access to it), check all grounds, connectors before blowing $500+ on a new ECM - just don't ask me how I know this. lol Aside from the P0606 I have sorted out the same DTC's Doug is getting. According to TIS a stuck TAC can fire P0606 and I would lean that way from my own experience.

      It is a 2006 Aveo and auto.
      The codes have only been coming when the engine and the
      air is above about 80 degrees and humid.
      I will check the connections Thursday. I did find one
      hose to the TB with cracks, small hoses with L shape boot into
      TB. For now I wrapped duct tape on the hose.
      I will clean the TB more, I just sprayed a little in to see what would
      happen. I thank you all for the suggestions and tips.
      I will let you all by Sunday what I found.

      Thanks

      I like to pull the TB off so I can really douse and scrub. The three I have done were stuck pretty good. Keep us posted!

      Sorry about no follow up.
      I am back, banged my left last and couldn't hold toos.
      Anyhow I got a heat resistance tape to wrap the hose boot from the MAP sensor.
      I will be changing the serpertine belt in the morning so I am going to check the connections under the
      coolant tank then. I did fine that after it dies and if I push on the TB electrical connection it clears the code.
      Looked closer today and found that the wires did not seem to be tight. Seems to be loose, will check that also in
      the morning.
      Thinking that Friday I will be hopefully cleaning the TB.
      Thanks so far for the tips,
      It did die today and under the P0606 code there was a bunch of information.

      Things like:
      ECT(F with degree) 201.2
      TPS 18%ECU Volts 12.95
      and many more.
      any ideas?

      Your TB seems like a cluster of problems. As for the run time data temp looks good, voltage a bit low (I normally see 13.9+ volts with all accessories OFF).

      Once you get the TB cleaned and sort out the connection issues, and shake out the TB codes, then we can move onto the P0300/P0700/U0100 fun. We can address that in the other post as I already have drawings posted in it specific to U0100/P0300/P0700 issue.
