      350 small block swap

Has anyone considered dropping a 350 small block into the aveo? Or attempted it? My cousin and me were discussing how much space I have in the engine bay of my 2011 aveo and we already cut through the hood for a hood scoop (don't ask) but I was considering a 350 small block swap. I'm still looking at transmissions that mount to it. It's just an idea but If anyone has done it is like to hear

Do you plan on keeping it FWD or plan on going RWD? Either way, you are going to need some deep pockets.

      consideration of a 350.

if i was going to a GM longitudinal RWD platform I would take the drivetrain out of a solstice or sky.

While the 350 would fit, with work.. post dating the car would be what tubbed with ladder bar rear end and a TH trans with a shift kit? might as well buy a chevette.

I know the cobalt swap is a common one, but are there any other engine swaps out there?

Im sure it can be done, but you will wind up needing to do a lot of cutting - goes without saying. The firewall will need to be moved back, and this may not be the most practical as you will lose most creature comforts. Comfort may be a low priority anyway lol Back in 97 I dropped a 355 into a 75 Chevy LUV truck, and only had to do a sub firewall to clear the distributor and exhaust. It was a blast to drive but was not very practical for daily driver duty with no heater, air, defroster, or power steering but the wipers still worked.

A pic for inspiration.. Enough cutting and anything will fit like a glove

That's the whole point, I rebuilt the car from a crash that totaled it. Only thing left to do now is go overboard. I like trying new things it's fun

how are emissions laws and such in Arizona for a project like this?

If you are serious about doing it, if only for the RWD aspect, I would recommend other possibilities than a 350. But the performance options of the car are what matter. DRAG car, hard to beat your 350 idea.. all out race car than can turn, solstice or sky (if the GM thing matters to you). Best, closest platform for sticking something in there.. miata. Then you can still go V8, and follow those guidelines for a monster miata.. typically ford, but I have seen an LS1 or two, they use a ford thunderbird IRS rear, and such.. good reads.

For my car, if i still have it when its time to do engine work. I am going to do an R32 drivetrain. Not sure about the full AWD yet, as I am planning on selling it at some point.
