      Broken timing belt

Well I did the unthinkable and flew the timing belt on my 04. Pistons have a qrtr. moon indentation in the top of them. So my question to the group is has anybody gone ahead after piston and piston wall inspection, put on a new refurbished cylinder head, or is my engine toast ?

Although I've never had the belt go and don't have first-hand experience, multiple prior threads indicate what you described as being factory indentations, and not damage from valves hitting the pistons. IMO you can either repair the head (including machine shop checking/decking), or buy a refurbished one if that's a better choice for you. A search of this site will give you good information from other members who have done this successfully in the past.
