Re: Where is the Fuel Filter.....

I work for a Chevy dealer and I tried getting the shop to replace the fuel filter during some warranty work and they informed me that the filter was somewhere in the tank and was not serviceable.

It's not the size that counts, it's how you handle it!

Re: Where is the Fuel Filter.....

There is a filter in the fuel pump assembly (inside the fuel tank). You can access it from under the rear passenger seats. A plastic black circular cap abt 15-20cm diameter, inside is the fuel pump inside the fuel tank.

There is also another external fuel filter outside the fuel tank along the Y-shape fuel line, just at the right side beside the fuel tank. It is beside the rear right wheel where it splits to 2 line. One return fuel line back into the fuel tank (passing through the fuel regulator which is together with the fuel pump assembly) and one going to the front fuel rail.

I believe the 2nd one which is outside at the Y-junction can be changed.

That filter is something like a tea bag, except its bigger abt 4 X 3 cm. Its o-ring secured to the base of the fuel pump (sucker part). Its possible to replace, but the problem is I dont think its sold separately without the fuel pump.

Re: Where is the Fuel Filter.....

I swear I thought I was looking at a fuel filter the other day.

I had the aveo driven up some ramps and I was underneath it on a creeper.

Looking up behind the engine,(under the intake manifold) there looked to be a black canister there with some lines attached to it, and I'm pretty sure a tag on it warning of fuel under pressure.

      Could this be it?

No the filter is in the tank I had an uncle change mine. I filled up at a crappy gas station that had really ****ty gas back when gas was 4.15 a gallon. My car could barely run. It took him like an hour to do everything.

And what your looking at is the flux compacitor.
