Turn Signal On Speed!

Hey. Well now I have a gremlin..not the car, this problem. My left turn signal will blink like it is on speed for a few times, then it doesnt do it for days, then it does it a few times for a day, then back to normal. The right one has not done it ever. This started to happen before I had my starter replaced, then it stopped after I had that replaced, so it isnt the starter, but now it is happening again on and off, and it is bugging me. I have looked at the bulbs and they are fine, but the left lights blinked unbelievably fast all day yesterday, dont know about today yet, its only 8am. Any ideas what could be causing this 'gremlin?' I dont know what else to look at.

a filament in a bulb could be detatched, but still touching.
or you may have an incorrect bulb.
or some wiring problem along the way.

Thanks for the ideas. They are the original bulbs, I dont know how to take the amber turn signal cases off/out to look at the bulbs, havent tried, but it doesnt look like an easy removal. IF they blow out, I will go to the mechanic and have them replace the bulbs, and if it still runs like it is on Meth. I will ask them to see if they can trace a wiring problem. It is driving me nuts. When I push the red emergency light button on the dash, they blink at the normal speed, it is just the left side,and today it didnt do it for like the first minute the car was started, then it went back to blinking like crazy. Gremlins!!!

you need to unbolt and lift the headlight to get behind the turn signal housing,
from there, just twist and pull the sockets out.
not too difficult.
the wiring in these cars is pretty flimsy from my experience,
but a bulb is probably the cause.
