      tie rod ends

      Rock Auto seems to have the best price, $15 each for Moog outer tie rod ends

      however... I haven't been able to find any inner tie rod ends, and even read a thread that said this car doesn't have inner tie rod ends (?)

      I did find one site that sells them apparently but they are $50 a piece...

      There are no inner tie-rod ends. The linkage goes directly from the steering rack to the knuckles.
      I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

      that's quite interesting. quite a while ago I had the car inspected at a "CAA-certified" garage here in Quebec and one of the things they said needed to be changed was the inner left tie rod.

      wow... incredible.

      Yeah me too. I was at a shop getting my safety sticker. The owner of the garage tells me I need a new inner tie-rod end. My car was on warranty, so I called the dealership and they told me that there were none... Guess who won that one hehe.

      That is pretty lowly of people to do that. The place I got mine inspected doesn't even do repairs/sell you parts, all they do is inspections.. Doesn't even make sense for them to BS on that.

      Anyhow, good to know.

      Just because there isn't a inner tierod that is removable does not mean the joint cannot wear out.

      Without taking the boot off how do you know it doesn't come off? And at that point if the joint is worn out it will mean a new rack. I am curious how the arm is jointed. Maybe I'll pull my boot and take pictures.

      Re: tie rod ends

      heh, rock auto has the following:

      A-1 CARDONE Part # 262039 More Info {[Rack & Pinion] Complete Unit; Reman.}
      Hydraulic Power Steering; Includes Inner Tie Rods $278.99 + shipping

      ACDELCO Part # 3616573 {#19131912}
      GEAR,STRG (REMAN-RACK & PINION-POWER COMPLETE) 4 DOORS $654.59 + shipping

      So it seems you can change the outer ones separately as you wish, but need to buy the entire kit to replace the "inner" parts.

      Can the "inner" being worn out cause slight pulling to the side and slight vibration at certain speeds and when braking from certain speeds (lets say 55-65mph)? I'm thinking yes, because I was told some time ago that my inner left is worn, and I do have this slight pulling and vibration (but it is still very slight, even a year later).

      I have replaced bearings and tires which didn't affect the problem (although they both needed to be changed too)
