      Roaring / vibrating in front end (driver side) - 2007 Aveo LS

      Stops when braking (just installed new pads/rotors);

      Dulls when veering left;

      Increases when veering right;

      Passenger-side wheel bearing was replaced 2 years ago, driver-side bearing was replaced today. All signs pointed to a bad bearing. Though the bearing was confirmed to be bad, replacement did not seem to correct the roaring/grinding/vibrating.

      I also have new(ish) tires and rims, but have had a lot of problems with alignment and shaking in the steering wheel, which seems to have been corrected.

      What else should be checked to diagnose this problem?

      Check your rear wheel bearings too. I've had the same problem in other cars and it sounds like the front but it's not.

      Also check your CV joints.

      could be the passenger side bearing as well.. I replaced both my fronts, and had one of the replacements making noise within 6 months.

      But check the back, and also the CV joints.

      I am just concerned about paying a ton of money for "inspections" and guess fixes. 2 years ago I paid $300 for ONE from wheel bearing. Where do you recommend I take it for at least a diagnosis?

      To your local trusted mechanic you use. I recommend you ask in advance how much it will cost to diagnose your problem. One thing for sure is that the problem will only get worse and cause more damage in the end. Then you'll pay a LOT more.

      Let the mechanic do his job. Tell him the symptoms and let him come back with the solutions. And yes, you have to pay him for his time.

      The workman is worth his wages.
