Reflash Transmission Control

I had our 2010 Aveo5 looked at this morning. While the trans seems okay, it's due for fluid and filter, which I'm going today. The shop said I should check with the dealership about getting the control updated. Anyone heard of this? I know an engine tube will tweak the ECM to improve the engine, is there updates to the transmission too?

You can ask the dealer if there are any TSB (technical service bulletins) on reflashing the trans ECU. However, its not very likely that there are. Reflashing the trans ECU is not normal at all.

Thanks, it didn't sound it. I know there's a lot of new things you can do On cars but never heard of updating the transmission this way.

a lot of manufacturers run the latest update every time you take the car to the shop. Its sort of like an unspoken phone update.

they "tweak" lots of things, for lots of different reasons.

Having said that a TSB would be issued, or a vin check would tell you if you have the latest update or if it applies.
