I have not really ever been a fan of AutoZone mostly because of having worked for a few of the other big name auto parts stores. But AutoZone is our rescue place today. This is the second time I have gone to AZ because NO ONE else had it in stock or a decent price!

      $47.99 DRUM AND BEARING!!

just take the dust cap off, take the big nut off, remove drum and bearing assembly.

Install new drum and bearing assembly in the reverse order.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

A review on the drum and bearing from autozone for $37.99, says that "I like Duralast products, but this drum does not have a sealed bearing. With the bearing not being sealed, it spins all of the grease out of the bearing and the bearing will and does goes bad soon." What do you guys think of this? I read a technical service bulletin and it said to only replace the wheel bearing/hub assembly for the rear wheel if you are hearing a loud hum coming from it. I found this Duralast/Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly - Rear (DL512357) | 2005 Chevrolet Aveo 4 Cylinders 6 1.6L MFI DOHC | AutoZone.com but I am not sure if it would be worth the money or what to get. I want the replacement to last long term.

i would at least spend the money once to save it for eternity, and buy a separate hub and drum assembly like on the newer aveos.

then brake jobs do not replace bearings.

      I like disk brakes personally.

Are you saying that you can replace the drum brakes with disk brakes on an 05 hatch? I just hate the look of drum brakes lol but what do you mean by buying a separate hub and drum assembly? like the $37.99 one from autozone and the rear wheel bearing assembly for $142.99 from autozone that I posted? Or if i can get disk brakes on the rear, would it be cheaper to go that way? Thanks!
