No acceleration on 06 aveo

i have an 06 aveo hatchback recently as im driving down the road my car just stops responding to accelerator it does not shut off no weird noise no odors just will not accelerate i can put car in nuetral while im coasting turn car off then on and most times it begins going again as if nothing happened sometimes i have to pull over put it in park turn engine off then restart and it goes again sometimes it takes a couple of restarts but it eventually goes.any ideas would be helpful.thanks.

Is the check engine light on? If so take it to a parts outfit to have the codes read. Some of the usual suspects are accelerator pedal position sensor, throttle actuator control, or even low battery voltage, but there are probably others as well. DTC codes could help pinpoint the problem.

had codes read came back with p2135,p2110,p2106,p1516

Presuming you're not a DIYer, you will need to take it to a shop for diagnosis. The codes are unclear because multiple parts are involved, so a mechanic will need to troubleshoot the components pointed to by the codes, along with their connectors and wiring.

all the codes deal with the TPS and throttle body. I'd replace the throttle body and should solve your issues.

forgot to mention that the cruise control would go out at times also.i believe its also connected to drive by wire.

also if i didnt relearn after changing battery could it cause my car to act this way.

all those are forces limits aside from the pedal position not matching the throttle position.

I would say you need your throttle body cleaned. Not sure if you need a relearn after that or not.


I can't see why you would have needed a relearn after just changing the battery either.
