      Knocking

      Interesting day, short version:

      Killed a bunch of bees

      Knocking in engine.

      22,000 miles.

Started up with knocking. Spooked me and I shut the engine off.
Restarted engine and popped the hood. Sounded like something plastic smacking around.
Under the hood, sounded as it was coming from the engine. After a minute the noise was gone.

What should I do? Take to to Chev and complain?
Or wait until something pops? Wait until it comes up again?

      Thanks
      Jason

Check your fan for cracks or chunks missing? Maybe.

mine started to make that noise too, sounds like a piece of plastic is knocking around in there sometimes, i took mine to the dealership and the guy says that most of the small cars that hes seen such as the aveo do that after a while, though nothings gone wrong, its just a bit annoying and a tad dishearting when you hear it for the first time :P

      Re: Knocking

      No bees in the engine.

The noise sounded like plastic knocking or ticking. Tough to explain.

      Hasn't returned since that morning.

Probably won't have time this weekend. Hope to get the intake done next week.

      Re: Knocking

This may not be your problem since you say it knocks when you start up. But a couple winters ago i got a build up of ice in the rad fan and it freaked me out when i heard a loud knocking when the engine warmed up. Then when i restarted, it was gone then after about 15seconds or so it would start back up. Took about 5 minutes of worried searching to locate the cause.
