I need some help with a stupid error

So I was driving down the highway and had a brain-fart and decided to turn the key of my car (turning it off) instead of my wipers. I let the car coast and waited to come to a complete stop until I put the car in Park and restarted it. It seems to be driving well and everything but the engine light did come on. So naturally I am pretty worried and was wondering if i could get some help here before taking it to a shop. My car is a 2011 Chevy Aveo LT.

I doubt any damage was done. Just take the car to a local parts store to see what the code is. Almost all of them will read codes for free.

yeah, just have the code(s) read for free at your Local Parts house, although there is a Voluntary Emissions Recall for 2009-2011 Aveos for Degraded Spark Plug Boots, the Dealer will give you a Free Tuneup (Replace the Spark Plugs and the Boots) ask for them to do Recall# 11290.

The recall is only 2009. I checked with the dealer, because I have a 2010

if you coasted the car to a stop you had the key on to keep the steering from being locked..

you basically will have a bunch of codes from having speed and movement without the running and fuel..

you will probably put them out yourself by driving the car without turning it off while moving for 2 cycles..
