Sometimes its spot on accurate. Sometimes, I KNOW there's a full tank and it shows only a 1/4 full....then it'll bounce up to full eventually. Sometimes after driving long distances it still shows 1/2 a tank when I know thats not accurate. Other times it will show bone dry empty a day after a fill-up. I've heard of the sending units in the gas tank going bad, and there may be a liquid product to run through the tank to fix things. Any experiences here? Fixes?

it sounds like a sending unit, but could be a loose resistor or something on the back of the gauges.
Do you park on a hill? My gauge reads 1/4 lower than it should in the morning when I sleep at my house and it is on an incline and accurately when I stay over at my girlfriend's place. It always comes back to what I consider to be accurate within about 5 minutes of driving. If you're having a bigger problem than this then absolutely it sounds like a sending unit.
