Electrical/sensor problems? Dome light, clock, open-door light....

Hi, new here...

The clock on my Aveo constantly comes on for a few minutes then goes off for another few minutes. The dome light also no longer works, I've changed the bulb a few times, still does not work. Also, the HUD light that tells you that you have a door open is constantly on... even though all the doors are closed.

The alarm a while ago also used to go off on it's own constantly and eventually it has just stopped working. The car no longer whistles when I lock it. I think there are a few minor things but it seems either those problems went away or I've forgotten about them because they've become so minor.

I'm wondering if anybody has some ideas where I should check to see why I'm having these problems and if they're linked? Fuse? Sensor problem?

There is second fuse that has been associated with the clock issue (it usually involves the radio as well though).

I would check either the door ajar switches, or the door looks. Does the dome light work if you open any of the other doors?

It would make sense, I think, if the electrical problems were radio related... just a theory but since I've installed my Sirius radio I've had more electrical problems than ever... although I have had electrical problems for about a year now....

I also forgot to mention the doors constantly lock and unlock as I'm driving, and when I roll down the driver side window the doors lock.

The dome light does not work when I open any other doors either.

a switch on one of the doors sounds culprit to me.

i would check your install of the radio, as well as the distribution block areas of both fuse boxes.

Looks like I'm having the same issue on my Aveo. Mine keeps blowing fuse #5 on the fuse block under the hood. I'm wondering if it is a door switch as well. Or something shorting out _someplace_. For now I've removed the fuse, but now the alarm doesn't chirp, the door ajar light stays on, and the dome light or trunk light does not light up. Wondering if it is a door switch? Or if I can find a replacement someplace?

Also the 'window down' switch on the driver's door does not function for the passenger front, but when I reach over, the window goes up and down.

Don't know if it is all related or not. What was the fix for your issue? Thanks!
