      Cruise control weird problem

My 2007 Wave's cruise control works perfectly at any speed but between 108 and 112 km/h. Within that range, you feel the car pushing the gas, then letting go, pushing again, letting go, on and on like that. On the speedometer, you barely see the needle moving (less than 1km/h difference), but you really feel the constant adjustment of the throttle. Most of the time, it's not a problem since I set the cruise at 102 km/h to try to get a nearly decent mileage. But once in a while, it would be cool to set it in that speed range. It's been doing that since I bought it brand new. I'll tell it to the dealer next time to see if he has an idea, but from past experience, people are often far more knowledgeable on the net forums than in a dealer garage..

Since it's all electric, is it a problem within the computer's software?
Could it be the speed sensor? If so, why only that speed range?

I've never had that issue and I set my cruise at 112km/h every time I do highway driving. Or maybe I just don't feel, but it seems like it would be pretty noticeable.

Never had any problem with mine, have you taken it to the dealer to have it looked at under warrenty?.

if the speed is staying the same you are most likely getting better millage because of this. Have you ever used a car that has a realtime average fuel consumption calculator? I have noticed with a few different cars (cobalt, and lancer) that when you fluter the pedal to maintain a speed rather than hold the pedal down you tend to have a better average.

however I have not noticed this issue on my 2006 aveo w/manual trans. but I will test it out at some point.

      Re: Cruise control weird problem

I tried cruising at around 112 km/h today. It was very windy here so I was being blown across the road a bit trying to hold her straight. the rpm was +-50 RPM from 3000.
I couldn't really feel any increase or decrease in throttle but it was very windy so Ill try again on a calmer day.

I had the same problem with my 2007 Pontiac Wave 5 speed and I went to the dealer (for guarantee) and the problem was an adjustment of the switch located behind the brake pedal.
